The most wonderful time of the year, indeed!
As we at Obsidian begin to wind down our work year to spend some much-needed time with family and friends, it seems a most appropriate opportunity to take a look back at 2019. And we do so with great fondness – this year has been our best ever!
Three cheers for our team!
If you know Obsidian, then you’re quite aware that our team is at the core of everything we do and every decision we make. Recruiting the best talent and retaining them is imperative to our business model and ongoing success. Simply put, we are a family. And this year, our OPR household grew by leaps and bounds! Not only did we keep the dynamic team all together (a miracle for any agency!), we added some amazing new talent. Jenna Taylor transitioned from Level 2 intern to full-time account assistant in February. And then Addison Walker joined in a full-time capacity in May, also transitioning from an L2 intern role she took in January. Finally, in August, we welcomed Brittany Mizell as an L2 intern. And you guessed it ‒ we’re happy to report that Brittany comes on board in a full-time role in 2020! Moral of this story is twofold: Interns are awesome, and internships are a great way to land a full-time gig.
We love our clients!
In our almost 14 years of existence, our firm has had the pleasure of partnering with some of the most successful, fun and downright inspiring clients around. In fact, we’ve serviced more than 360 since our founding year of 2006. Our 2019 roster boasted some clients who have been with us since (almost) the very beginning, brand-new clients who already feel like family and many that fall somewhere in the middle (celebrating many years of partnership with Obsidian). Thank you to our clients who make our work so fulfilling. We love you!
A record-smashing year!
A company is so much more than what an accounting ledger shows in black and white. But any business owner also knows that without a margin, there is no mission. So here’s a quick golf clap for 2019, which will go down in the (accounting) record books as our Best. Year. Ever.
- Best year ever in sales
- Best year ever in profit
- Best year ever in client retention
- Best year ever in employee retention
Cheers to you, 2019. You were so very good to us. 2020, here we come.
