OPR’s Beale Street Music Fest experience
In case you missed it, last weekend was Beale Street Music Fest. The weekend, from all reports, was a smashing success, with packed crowds there to see A-list headliners.
Three members of our team – Gracie, Carlee and Christina – visited the festival all three days. Here’s what they had to say:
- Gracie: My favorite acts were Third Eye Blind on Friday and Post Malone on Sunday! It was nice that they had free water stations this year, but the water was warm from the sun. It was pretty muddy, but the weather was amazing all weekend!
- Carlee: My favorite act was Post Malone! It was such a crazy experience being a part of a crowd that large. As for the weather, minus the usual mud, it couldn’t have been better!
- Christina: The artist I was most excited about was Alanis Morissette, and she was incredible! She played all of her classics and I felt like I was in 1995 again. But the act who blew me away was David Byrne on Saturday. From the simple, box-shaped set to the choreographed band, his set was unlike anything Music Fest has ever done.
