January 2026 recap
After a wonderful holiday season, our team was ready to head back to our new headquarters and embark on a new year. Here’s a glimpse into what’s happened so far in 2026!
The return of OPR’s podcast
Our team is back on the airwaves! January marked the launch of OPR’s rebranded post, PRactically, a Podcast. Episodes will be available weekly, so be sure to follow us on Spotify, Apple Podcasts or Soundcloud. In the meantime, you can catch up with our latest recordings:
- …is this thing on? SOS! There’s no cell signal…now what? In our first episode, Taylor and Carlee talk through Verizon’s nationwide outage, the importance of multichannel communication and the merits of attaching your messaging to another organization’s crisis. Listen here.
- Who makes the call? Deciding to keep doors closed or shift business operations to remote work isn’t one that companies take lightly. With a massive winter storm sweeping the country, Lauren, Murray and Taylor provide insight into their inclement-weather communication processes (and hopefully help you extend a little grace to the people who have to make these calls). Listen here.
A new addition
If you follow us on social media (and you should!), you may have noticed we added a new member to our rockstar team. By way of Birmingham, Izzy came aboard as an intern this month. A few fun facts to get to know her:
- Izzy is a graduate of Samford University. Go Bulldogs!
- Can you hear the wedding bells? Izzy is a newlywed.
- She’s a big *dill* – Izzy is a huge fan of pickleball and plays regularly.

Hot Topic(s)
(No, not the beloved store franchise). While the world of public relations is ever-changing, there are a few constants. This month, our team considered several hot industry topics, including the best way to measure success, the continued rise of video content and the most effective way to reach your target audience.
