Shake it up: Rethinking company culture
Company culture: What do you do when things aren’t quite clicking, or even if they are, how do you improve them? Here are a few strategies to help you assess your company’s culture and plan accordingly.
Chat with your team
To improve, you have to be willing to learn about what’s working and what’s not by opening the door for employees to offer their thoughts and suggestions. You can do this via survey, staff meeting or one-on-one with the leadership team. But remember to be open to the good, the bad and the ugly—it’s all valuable feedback!
Embrace flexibility
Flexible schedules and work-life balance are two work perks that are incredibly important to employees. By offering remote work options, flexible hours and encouraging time off to recharge, you can have a happy AND productive team.
Celebrate accomplishments
Give kudos where kudos are due. When you recognize your team’s hard work and achievements, big and small, they will feel empowered. Employees who feel empowered are more likely to work hard and think outside the box – creating a space for your team’s accomplishments to soar and your company culture to thrive.
Lead by example
Senior leadership should embody your company’s values and the behaviors you want to see in your team overall. Be transparent, accountable and empathetic, and your team will follow suit!
