In my last post, I shared an agency’s perspective of the fun and success that 2019 ushered to our team at Obsidian. But, I’d like for you to hear directly from each team member and what made this year one to remember. 

Lauren

Ooh, there are probably quite a few moments to remember! But I think our trip Turks & Caicos hands down tops the list. My 10-year anniversary surprise was so fun, too! And when we met our first growth goal in spring to confirm the Barbados trip ‒ wow, that was awesome!

Whitney

Gosh, it’s so hard to go back in my memory with so much good that has happened in 2019! I’m thinking when we hit our first goal and confirmed our trip to Barbados is my choice. It was early in the year, so to be able to hit goal that soon and ahead of schedule was amazing!

Staff retreat bath bomb party! That has been the fun team event that keeps on giving. The best part is that when I have a stressful day, I can take a soothing bath and think back on that fun event after fall retreat!

I’d say the Buff City Soap party after fall retreat. My kids are enjoying my bath bombs!

Getting the opportunity to work with Made In Memphis Entertainment is simply incredible. All the great work they do ‒ that’s what I see in a dream client.

Turks & Caicos! Specifically, the dinner we had on the rooftop. The food was delicious and so was the wine. We were exhausted from travel, of course, but outsiders would not have known. We were all on a high from soaking up all the Caribbean beauty. Lots of laughs that night!

I would be crazy if I didn’t say our company trip to Turks & Caicos was the highlight of my 2019 (maybe the highlight of my life, actually…). Other than that, I really enjoyed when our team took an art tour around the South Main neighborhood. If you know me, you know I love Downtown Memphis and the South Main area, and I love that our office is located right in the heart of it all. It was neat to hear about the meaning and history behind the various art installations.

OK, our Halloween fun team event takes the cake for me this year! LOVE! Watching the classic Hocus Pocus, eating autumn treats and having lots of laughs as a team was a fantastic way to chill on a cloudy October day.

The best memory of 2019 was definitely our Turks & Caicos trip! It was so much fun getting to spend time with everyone outside of the office in one of the most beautiful places I’ve ever been.

I think mine is the first staff retreat I went to in March, and then we saw Captain Marvel! It was my first “team” event with everyone since coming on and since knowing that I was hired full time. It was so fun!

Definitely working South Main Trolley Night in August with Jenna and STIX!
