Maybe you think of music, maybe you think of Elvis, but when a lot of people think of Memphis, they think of the barbecue pit. In case you’re not from around these parts, this week is the World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest. Teams of amateurs and professionals from across the globe will convene in the Bluff City to bring their rubs, sauces and techniques to the red checkered table, with the hopes of claiming a top prize. While we don’t claim to have an award-winning recipe, we do see a few parallels between barbecue best practices and public relations.
