Since the last time we spoke with Taylor, a lot has happened! Professionally, she’s moved up in the ranks at Obsidian, serving clients as an account specialist and Obsidian as brand and culture manager. In her personal life, she married the love of her life, moved Downtown and adopted a puppy! So, we asked a few questions to update you on all things Taylor.

You’ve almost been married a year! What’s married life like?
Married life is a lot of fun! When I’m not at work, I’m a homebody. It’s been fun to have someone to lounge around with me. Plus, it has made cooking fun! I’ve always enjoyed cooking, but cooking for one is so… unsatisfying. Now I have someone to share meals with, and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed that.

What’s your favorite thing about being a dog mom?
Coming home every day is a lot happier when you have a puppy. Rival (our dog) is five months old and full of energy. She cannot wait to see us at the end of the work day and she shows us by excitedly rolling over for a belly rub. She’s the best!

We know you’re a podcast lover. Anything new we should be listening to?
If you’re into true crime podcasts, definitely check out Atlanta Monster. It’s similar to Serial in that it covers one crime over the course of the season. If true crime isn’t your thing, I’d highly recommend RadioLab. They explore the intersection of science and popular culture in fascinating ways.

What have you been watching on TV lately?
Surprisingly, college basketball has been on my TV more often than usual. Auburn is typically terrible at basketball, but this season we seem to have a strong team. It’s fun to watch your team win for a change! When basketball isn’t on, we’re probably watching The Bachelor. Is that bad to admit?

Anything you’re looking forward to in the next year?
My sister graduates from Auburn in May, and I’m really excited to watch her transition from college into the professional world. She’s sharp and has a bright future ahead of her. I can’t wait to see where she lands!

What’s the best meal you’ve had in Memphis recently?
OH! This is hard. I tend to go to the same places all the time. But, I would say lunch bowls at Bhan Thai have been my favorite recently. They’re SO good, filling and last me at least two meals. That’s a winner in my book. In fact, I think I’ll have one for lunch today!

What’s the biggest lesson you’ve learned at Obsidian?
That done is better than perfect. We perfect documents through the editing process. It’s important that you get everything out on the table, then refine, rather than agonizing about getting everything perfect and stalling the process.
